Ian Mortimer — Executive Director

A cofounder of the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Ian has a strong history in community cultural development. Ian has been a creative designer and director for nationally recognised festivals and organisations including the National Museum of Canberra, the Moonba Festival, Questacon and the Director of open space entertainment for the opening of Darling Harbour. Stimulating the development of edu-tainment is key to Ian's philosophy. Having lectured, mentored and designed interactive displays, pageantry, scriptwriting and stunt work. He is currently the founder and Executive Director of the Longyard Sideshow Company.

 

Robyn Fernandez — Executive Producer

Post Graduate in Arts and Cultural Management at the Queensland University of Technology. Having spent the past seven years developing and implementing creative projects and workshops for disadvantaged young people both on a national and international arena. A wiz with the kids Robyn has inspired the visual art component of this project and is establishing a gallery space in Charleville into which many art forms will be exhibited. Her am also very funny.

 

 

Matt Woodrow — Head Skills Coach

Matt is our circus teacher and performance coach. He has established circus schools in remote areas from Alice Springs to Canberra. An award winning chef who gave up the glamour of the kitchen to work on the streets and theatres as Dusty the Clown. Now he nourishes people with whimsy and laughter. He was tent boss for Circus Oz for 4 years.

 

Hemlock Majerne — Skills Coach

Ex Australian team sports acrobat, has run his own circus school in Darwin, performed with Australian Opera, National English Ballet, the opening ceremony of the 2000 Olympics and many and varied festivals. Advisor to Sydney City Council on street performing and busking policy. Presented a conference paper "Culture in the Street" at first international conference on Global Culture.
